I remember vividly the first picture I saw of sadus, their long matted dreads covered in ashes and the twisted postures they managed to get them selves into. To me they looked majestic in a way I had never seen before. I was just a child at this time, but the spark of yoga had been deeply planted. I began practicing yoga asana at the age of eighteen by fumbling through postures from a tattered book from the seventies. I went on to study various yoga styles which eventually led me to Wendy Borger and Anusara Yoga. The key had finally fit, and I knew I was at home with the tantric philosophy and the heart oriented practice that Anusara Yoga offered. I continued my study of Anusara Yoga with Noah Maze and Naime Jezzeny, to whom I am deeply grateful. It is my pleasure to weave my background as a rock-climbing instructor into my yoga teaching, where doing the unthinkable and moving through your fears is the norm. As well, my experience as a hypnotherapist unveiled to me the power of the mind-field to heal, transform and connect with the limitless. This also is part of the fabric that is woven into my teaching. I am blessed to have many great teachers on my path, too many to mention at this time, yet none the less it is my prayer they are bestowed with blessings as I carry on their wisdom.
